That’d be approximately One Hundred Fifteen Thousand American Dollars.
I shall venture out and see for myself if it’d be worth that much weed.
*nice wheels, wonder if I could pick up a set for my cheapass Hilux.

What currency? Rand? Also, those wheels look goofy, the offset is all wrong

Thailand, the Thai Baht. Same country that Toyota produces Hilux in all guises for export.
Indeed it does look goofy, probably that ‘pressed steel wheel’ look, but the offset is correct. ¯\_()_/¯

Lira. Current exchange rate ;)

Well you can see where the hub dives in to give the right offset but it looks...odd.

You know you need to drop that piece of British despair and get that LJ79. Its a gawddamn bargain and you know it. :)

That’s a lot of sheckels ... still, I’d rather buy that than das G-WAGEN!

Am I doing this right?

Das G-Wagen (base model G350d Sport) here in Bangkok will allow for TWO drug money Toyota Land Cruisers and change for some decent accessories. :(

Yes and no. They are protected, but your half shaft doesn’t sit outside the hub so any wheel would protect it, even one with a ridiculous positive offset.
Also: go and get that Hilux dirty will ya? It’s far too clean!

For 4200 Freedom bucks, gib!
But I assume its a lot of money for people in Thailand?

Minimal wage in Thailand is,
300 baht/day or US$9/day.
Nine American Dollars per Day.

Right, but with the large difference between the poor and middle class, do you think a middle class family man could afford this?
![]() 02/02/2016 at 20:35 |
|
The middle class averages 50000 baht/month or US$ 1400/month, so no there is no plausible reason for a typical middle class family man to afford this.
The income disparity is the largest in Asia at approximately 16 times between those who are owned and those who own them.

Wow, then the price is ridiculous.
I am from India so I know about this problem. I just didn’t know the scale of the problem in Thailand. Its very unfortunate and also similar to India.

Interesting enough Thailand’s social class system is very much like India’s, a real pity and archaic.
It still baffles me after 5 years here, I’m from Singapore where meritocracy & ‘pseudo-autocracy’ is practised.

Haha I’m living in Singapore right now. Just moved here! lol

I despise those boxes that were designed for the Austrians, or the Australians, or whomever ordered such a hateful over-engineered topheavy piece of silliness.

I guess?
I hope that little petri dished social experiment is treating you well. What do you do there?
I’ve been away for 4 years, can’t say I miss all of it but I do appreciate its efficiency.

Thanks? lol I feel welcome and its a nice place. But I know how you feel and I’m definitely not in love with it.
So far its been alright, just trying to get used to a few things.
Everything is expensive, people tend to stay in their racial/social cliques, can’t drive...so right now I’m just trying to get past that and have a good time.
I am an engineer.
